Minnesota Trades Academy Summer Internship
Prepare to explore the thrilling industry of construction with the MN Trades Academy! Interns will receive a practical introduction to various career paths in the construction and building trades
industry, including carpentry, pipefitting, electrical work, and beyond. Additionally, interns will learn about related fields such as architecture, surveying, estimating, project management, and building design.
This internship is a paid 8-week opportunity and is open to high school students ages 16 to 21 who are eager to explore construction as a potential career.

MN Department of Transportation: Phoenix Student Worker Program
Gain hands-on work experience in STEM-related career fields through the Phoenix Student Worker Program at the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT). As a Phoenix student, you will work with MnDOT professionals on meaningful projects that shape Minnesota’s transportation future while building valuable skills for your career.
Step beyond the basics and make an impact through tasks like:
• Researching and assembling source maps
• Collecting and updating bridge inspection data
• Assisting with state-wide bicycle planning
• Calculating and analyzing data
Work up to 40 hours/week during the summer and earn up to $18.72-$21.90 an hour!
Quanex Summer Internship
Quanex is a global, publicly traded manufacturing company serving manufacturers in the window, door, cabinetry, solar, refrigeration, and outdoor products markets. Over the course of their 9-week internship program, students will learn the workflow of the business by spending one week in each department observing, working, and learning at a high level what each department does.
Candidates will be high school students age 17 or older and work at the Mounds View location for $17.00/hour
Buhler Mechatronics Technician Apprenticeship
Apprentices earn a debt-free associate degree of applied science and gain skills in the mechanical and electronic field. The apprenticeship is a 3-year dual training program that combines structured on-the-job training and related technical instruction. Apprentices are paid, full-time employees of Bühler for the entirety of the program and receive benefits. All training, classes, tools, books, uniforms and a computer are paid for by Bühler. Upon completion of the program the apprentices receive their Journeyworker Card, an associate's degree from Hennepin Technical College, and international Mechatronics credentials through the ICATT Apprenticeship program. Apprentices receive and hourly wage of $15/hr the first year, $17/hr the second year, and $19/hr the third year. Applicants must be 18 years old, apply now!
Energy Careers Academy
The Energy Careers Academy helps train and support the next generation of energy workers and leaders. M State provides the course curriculum, accreditation, and instructors for the academy programs, as well as student support and career prep services.
